September 2019 Message
It is important to recognize that in order to be successful, students need support beyond academics. That is why one of our district’s six priorities is Student Well-Being. We must remain mindful of the emotional and physical needs of all our students and continue to affirm each student’s sense of identity and belonging if we hope to create learning environments where each and every one of our students can thrive.
March 2019 Message
In Bellevue School District (BSD), we put a significant focus on how people work together and build relationships to ensure our students thrive. The culture and climate of a school or department often boils down to a feeling. Students are excited to come to school in the morning and their confidence grows throughout the year. Parents and community members feel welcomed when they walk into a BSD building. Staff members feel valued, fulfilled and motivated to continue learning and growing as part of the BSD community.

December 2018 Message
For many of us, the December holidays bring special rituals and festivities rooted in traditions old and new. Talking with our students, families, and staff about their plans for the winter break, I am reminded of the richness of cultural diversity in our community. While common themes, such as family, friends, gratitude, and giving unite us, each of our celebrations is unique—a reminder of where we come from and a way to honor who we are and what we value. In the Bellevue School District, we believe that celebrations of who we are should extend far beyond the holiday season. We are committed to affirming and celebrating the individuality of our students throughout the year.

At its heart, our Strategic Plan—made up of our District’s vision, mission, values, and priorities—is about ensuring that our students are affirmed for who they are, inspired by their experiences, and have access to the individualized supports and services that will allow them to thrive. The Strategic Plan affirms our commitment to providing a positive and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of each and every student, every day to ensure success for all.
